Three things I wish had been implemented in CSS much earlier if at all:

  1. An underline-style property.
  2. position: fixed;
  3. XPath selectors
  4. And not technically CSS, but the <object> tag, and CSS support for it.

Actually, I’m glad that they didn’t give underlines text-level legitimacy by providing control under that name; I with they’d gone further and nixed everything matching “underline” so people would use border consistently. Keeping it on the graphic level – “attach such-and-such a line to this text” – seems wisest all around to me.

object will smooth a lot of things. img is stale.

Okay, agreed. I want a working inline-element padding, then, so I can adjust the border distance.
