The OpenMoko site went live today. A totally open GSM phone platform is a Very Good Thing. I'll probably by buying one. Up yours, Apple iPhone.

Umm, yeah, I'm overqualified for that badge. I've knocked myself on my ass too many times in my life. The several thousand volt discharge through my gluteus maximus was one of the worst. Still, Model A spark coils were a lot of fun to play with.

So you’re the reason for those “please do not apply spark coils to your behind” warnings! Pleased to meet you!

Well, it wasn't the spark coil, that's just where the ground return happened. A switch arced over and I didn't realize I was sitting on a ground wire until then.

Besides, this was a part from a Ford Model A. Not many disclaimers back then.

It's nice to see OpenMoko up and running, but I don't see where to actually buy one. Am I blind, or is that not yet available?
