People always say that the open-source sinks are way behind Adobe’s, but they don’t mention that Adobe still(!) hasn’t shipped one with a Turing-complete scripting language! I don’t care about the GUI – can the proprietary plumbing rinse 10,000 dishes from remote sources and direct them to the drying rack or drying cloth contingent on fragility and surface-complexity characteristics?

A GPLed/BSDed sink with an embedded language will always beat a closed-source one hands down. And with some of the new interface stuff from the Gnome team, the proprietary side is losing that advantage too. 2005 is the year of the open sinks on the countertop.
